Complaints Procedure

If you feel you wish to comment on any aspect of the service we have provided which was not to your satisfaction, please address your comments in writing to:

All letters will be acknowledged within five working days of receiving any correspondence. Any issues raised will be investigated and a reply sent in writing within twenty one days of receiving the initial correspondence. It is hoped that the situation is resolved at that point.

If it is not possible to resolve the situation, then you may apply in writing to the Funeral Arbitration Scheme.

Funeral Arbitration Scheme

The vast majority of Eric F. Box’s funerals are completed in a highly satisfactory manner but, on very rare occasions, situations can arise where a client may be dissatisfied and may, therefore, seek redress.

The Funeral Arbitration Scheme is an independent conciliation and arbitration scheme designed to help funeral directors who are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) to resolve such complaints.

It provides a simple process in three, easy to follow stages, through the IDRS, which is an independent organisation offering conciliation and arbitration for the purpose of resolving disputes.

As a condition of membership of the NAFD, funeral director businesses are not only bound by the terms of the Association’s Code of Practice, but funeral directors are also required to comply with a client’s wishes to proceed to conciliation or arbitration under the Scheme and to abide by its rulings.
