Deep down most of us would like to believe that we made a difference – that we mattered to someone and that after our death, we will be fondly remembered by those who either cared for or were ‘shaped’ by us.
Taking time to honour the life of a loved one in a meaningful way, and remembering the difference they made in our lives, is an important step in the journey towards healing.
Today, there are so many ways we can remember and celebrate the people in our lives. A funeral should be a personal experience that reflects the values, interests and experiences of a loved one, so that it also helps those who are left behind.
Sharing stories and reflecting on a person’s life, gives us an opportunity to remember how our loved one shaped and influenced those people around them.
